The Homepage section of Site Manager refers specifically to the central content portion of the homepage -- while the sidebar, navigation, and site banner are all parts of your website that are controlled separately. The example below shows a candidate's site, with the "homepage" section highlighted in red:
To Add Homepage Items
- Login and go to Website
- Click on "Edit & Manage Pages"
- Choose the editing mode and select the Homepage action
- Enter your desired content in the content box
- To edit an exisiting item, click "Edit Exisiting." On the same page, you can also adjust the order of homepage items in the "Order" column
Word to the Wise: It is rarely a good idea to put a lot of text on the home page. You will have many different people coming to the home page, seeking very different things from it, and willing to consume different levels of content. Ideally, the homepage should be like a graphical table-of-contents. It should clearly direct people to get where they want to go, as well as where you want them to go, without alienating or bombarding them with too much text.
